Hayes, Edward J. – Journal of Counseling Psychology, 1974
The Stern indexes, used to assess the relationship between press and need as related to academic success among minority students, served as the criterion to test the hypothesis that a significant relationship exists between psychological needs and environmental presses. Results of the study suggest a confirmation of this hypothesis. (Author)

College recruiters (N=66) evaluated the qualifications and employability of either a male or a female applicant for a supervisory position. Contrary to the hypotheses, the moderately aggressive female was rated as favorably as the moderately aggressive male and the passive male was rated as negatively as the passive female. (Author)

Two methods of assessing co-curricular needs of college students were investigated. Results revealed substantial differences exist between the percentage of students who indicated a campus service was important to them in meeting a personal need and the percentage of students who actually intended to use the service in question.
