The Image of Pluralism in American Literature: An Annotated Bibliography on the American Experience of European Ethnic Groups.
Inglehart, Babette F.; Mangione, Anthony R.
This classified, annotated bibliography is limited to documentation of European ethnic groups. It has been prepared to assist teachers of English and social sciences in high schools and colleges to improve the self image of students who have immigrant parents and grandparents. Writers whose primary language is not English have been included only if their works have been translated. The bibliography includes material in the following areas: anthologies dealing with the white ethnic experience, literature of European ethnic groups in America, history, autobiography, and criticism. A subject index is included. Titles of books no longer in print have been included because of their importance in presenting some aspect of the immigrant experience and their value to researchers and scholars. (Author/AM)
