A Sequential Bayesian Changepoint Detection Procedure for Aberrant Behaviors in Computerized Testing
Jing Lu; Chun Wang; Jiwei Zhang; Xue Wang – Grantee Submission, 2023
Changepoints are abrupt variations in a sequence of data in statistical inference. In educational and psychological assessments, it is pivotal to properly differentiate examinees' aberrant behaviors from solution behavior to ensure test reliability and validity. In this paper, we propose a sequential Bayesian changepoint detection algorithm to…

A Cognitive Model of Drug Urges and Drug-Use Behavior: Role of Automatic and Nonautomatic Processes.

Tiffany, Stephen T. – Psychological Review, 1990
A cognitive model of drug urges and drug use is proposed, hypothesizing that drug use in the addict is controlled by automatized-action schemata. Urges are conceptualized as responses supported by nonautomatic cognitive processes activated with drug-use action schemata. Implications for behavior assessment are discussed. (SLD)

Downey, Ronald G.; Saal, Frank E. – 1978
The development of some psychometric indices of performance rating quality based in judgement is traced. The conceptual and analytical confusion that characterizes contemporary research in this area is described. The operational definitions of several criteria of rating quality, including leniency and severity of the rating effect, halo effect,…

Geva-May, Iris – Studies in Educational Evaluation, 1993
The extent to which student questionnaire responses reflect students' active behavior was studied through course attendance patterns of Israeli undergraduates, student completion of a questionnaire rating college lecturers, and interviews with 36 students. In this instance, the questionnaire did not reflect actual behavior. Explanations are…

Haladyna, Thomas M. – 1997
This guide is designed to help teachers create test items that measure a variety of higher level thinking abilities. Part One, "Foundations for Item Writing," provides a context for item writing. Chapter 1 provides an overview of the book and defines basic concepts, principles, and terminology. Chapter 2 integrates research literature to…

Trad, Paul V.; And Others – Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders, 1993
Evaluation of 26 children (ages 24-55 months) with pervasive developmental disorder (PDD) while interacting with either the mother, a familiar female teacher, and an unfamiliar male doctor. PDD subjects were most severely impaired during the mother episode. During the teacher episode, PDD subjects were twice as variable in interpersonal response…

Pedersen, Frank A.; And Others – 1976
The Perception of Baby Temperament Scales (PBT) were used to elicit parental perceptions of infant temperament, with the results rated for internal consistency and congruence between parents. Data was obtained from 26 families, with both father and mother describing their first-born infants at five months of age. The PBT Scales deal with a range…

Niehoff, Arthur H. – 1968
A comparative method for analyzing efforts of induced change in cross-cultural situations is described. Case histories of efforts to introduce innovations to local communities of the developing nations were separated into 'success' and 'failure' groups. The behavioral components that influenced such outcomes were categorized according to whether…
