Examining Factors of Burnout, Self-Efficacy and Principals' Emotional Intelligence
Dezziree Harrell
ProQuest LLC, Ed.D. Dissertation, Trevecca Nazarene University
This mixed model study set out to investigate the burnout and self-efficacy of school counselors. It also examined the emotional intelligence of school principals and the self-efficacy of school counselors. Burnout may occur due to the rise in stress related to one's employment. According to Mullen and Gutierrez (2016), there may be a reduction in the number of direct and indirect services provided to children, which could have an adverse effect on the work done by school counselors. Increasing school administrators' emotional intelligence helps them make more moral decisions and helps them deal with urgent organizational difficulties (Watts, 2013). Stakeholders will be able to hear directly from school counselors about the support they required to prevent burnout thanks to this study.
