Hampe, Edward; And Others – Journal of School Psychology, 1973
Evidence from this study suggests that if the sample size is large and if economic barriers to treatment are not present, one finds that intelligence is distributed among school phobics as it is distributed in the general population. Implications for practice and research are discussed. (Author)

Contrary to the research hypothesis, higher levels of self-evaluation were not observed in a sample of school phobic children when these children were compared with a control group of disturbed, but nonphobic children who were also attending a psychiatric clinic. (WY)

School phobia is the pronounced fear reaction of a child who is experiencing significant anxiety and suffering. A warm accepting teacher is required. He must be one who can set firm and consistent yet reasonable limits for the child. Therapy is recommended for the child and his parents. (Author)
