Feeling that projects in chemistry could be used effectively to enhance appreciation of chemistry, a project-based course for the first-year sixth formers was developed in 1973 and because of its success another was organized. Projects from both courses are described. (EB)

Described is the Independent Learning Project for Advanced Chemistry (ILPAC) which is sponsored by the Inter London Education Authority and utilized by 120 A-level students in the London schools. There are 21 written units included which contain explanations, exercises, instructions for practicals, tests, and assignments. (Author/DS)

Described is the Independent Learning Project for Advanced Chemistry (ILPAC) as it is utilized in Hydeburn, a tribe school in London. The teacher describes how she uses the program with her upper and lower A-level chemistry groups. As a result of this program, pupils seem more articulate in educational discussions. (Author/DS)
