Cervantes Juárez, Erika; Sánchez Guzmán, Daniel – Physics Education, 2023
In many science and engineering undergraduate programmes, physics courses are fundamental and can be seen as a potential place where students can develop complementary abilities such as the computational thinking process. The present work proposes and describes the learning science and engineering with electronic spreadsheets cycle (LSEESC)…

Krajsek, Simona Strgulc; Vilhar, Barbara – Journal of Biological Education, 2010
We developed and tested a lesson plan for active teaching of diffusion in secondary schools (grades 10-13), which stimulates understanding of the thermal (Brownian) motion of particles as the principle underlying diffusion. During the lesson, students actively explore the Brownian motion through microscope observations of irregularly moving small…

Ursyn, Anna – Learning and Instruction, 1997
The effects of the integration of art and science through instruction in computer art graphics on learning geology were studied with 53 college students and 189 comparisons in the same geology class. Results indicate that building representations of scientific concepts through computer art may improve students' achievement. (SLD)

Linn, Marcia C. – Science and Children, 1987
Describes the use of a microcomputer-based laboratory (MBL) in teaching the concepts of heat and temperature to eighth grade students. Discusses the advantages of being able to instantly display the results of their experimentation with the use of temperature and light probes, and heat pulsors. (TW)
Descriptors: Computer Assisted Instruction, Computer Graphics, Computer Uses in Education, Concept Formation
Physiologist, 1987
Contains abstracts of presented papers which deal with teaching materials and methods in physiology. Includes papers on preconceptual notions in physiology, somatosensory activity recorded in the dorsal root ganglion of the bull frog, and the use of the Apple Macintosh microcomputer in teaching human anatomy and physiology. (TW)
