Evaluated difference in level of alienation between Nigerian secondary school students who were drug users (N=97) or non-users (N=119). Examines the reliability and validity of the Palestinian version of the Student Alienation Scale. Results, based on 574 students, revealed a high internal consistency for the SAS and a concurrent validity with other measures. Among Arab students in Israel, alienation is more closely related to their perceptions than to objective measures. Arab students, teachers, and principals from 36 schools were interviewed.
