High school juniors and seniors were interviewed to ascertain the effects of participation in the vocational education curricula. A comparison of the attitudes of students participating in vocational education programs and academic programs revealed the former to hold themselves in low esteem and to attach little value to their education. The purpose of this study was to determine if the newly placed emphasis on job placement in secondary schools has affected the means by which students actually find entry-level jobs.
