Examines the vocational aptitude patterns of males and females and Blacks and Whites. Work samples from the Micro-TOWER System of Vocational Evaluation were used to assess verbal, numerical, clerical perception, motor, and spatial aptitudes. Many differences were revealed of which counselors should be aware. (Author)

The purpose of the study was to compare predictions of freshmen through senior year grades for black and white students by sex for new freshmen who entered on university in fall 1968 and 1969. Results showed that different patterns of prediction for different race/sex subgroups emerged. (Author)

The predictive validity of the American College Test (ACT) for two classes totaling 2,289 students was investigated at successive intervals over four years of college. Correlational coefficients and expectancy tables substantiated the validity of the ACT for prediction of GPA, for progress, and for graduation within four years. (Author)

The realistic competency and activity scales of the Self-Directed Search were revised to learn if women's scores on these scales could be increased without reducing their concurrent and construct validity for men and women. Results indicate the revisions increase women's realistic scores, but fail to affect their high point codes. (Author)

This article describes the design and testing of a computer-based program that administers and scores the California Psychological Inventory. Results indicate a considerable difference between the mean CPI subscale results of the computer administered and traditionally administered groups, particularly for males. (Author)

Standard scores on comparable scales of the Strong-Campbell Interest Inventory and the ACT Interest Inventory were intercorrelated to test construct validity of the instruments. Data on the reliability and validity of the sex-valances scales are summarized along with data from previous research on sex-balanced scales and reporting procedures. Resolutions of the 1970 national convention platform of the National Organization for Women were paraphrased to form items for the nine subscales of the Attitudes Toward Feminist Issues Scale (ATFI Scale).
