Walsh, W. Bruce; And Others – Journal of Vocational Behavior, 1977
This study investigated differences between men and women employed in traditional male occupations using the Vocational Preference Inventory (VPI) and the Self-Directed Search (SDS). Results indicate men in traditionally male occupations, when compared to women in those same occupations, tend not to report higher mean raw scale scores. (Author)

This study examines sex differences in the importance assigned to 16 job factors and in work values among different age cohorts. Data were obtained from 542 college graduates employed in nonacademic positions. Men and women do not differ in endorsement of "people-oriented" values and are congruent on the "self-expression" factor. (Author)

A 1974 survey of University of Illinois graduates compares males and females on: (1) the extent to which they have entered the labor force; (2) difficulty in obtaining jobs; (3) difficulty in finding jobs related to their fields of study; and (4) salaries.
