Subjects were 296 Introductory Psychology students. Pre-test and post-test measures were obtained as a measure of opinion change. Contrary to most previous research, results indicated that there were no significant sex differences or interactions in persuasibility using topics of low or high involvement. (Author)

Whether graduate students' income sources differ by sex was studied at a large midwestern university on the basis of a stratified random sample. Although there was little evidence of blatant sex discrimination, cultural sex norms may explain differing education choices and patterns that affect income sources. (Author)

Although researchers have found differences in male and female respondents when investigating faculty and staff members in university decision making, no one has directly compared the interest and involvement of men and women. Undergraduates (130 males, 112 females) completed the Sensation Seeking Scale (SSS) and the S-R Inventory of General Trait Anxiousness (S-R GTA). The intercorrelations among the five scales from the SSS and the four scales from the S-R GTA were computed and compared. Findings were consistent with rational and theoretical notions. (Author)

Experiment I assessed 119 unmarried college women with regard to sex behavior, sex guilt, and moral reasoning. Experiment II assessed 76 unmarried college couples on the same variables. The pattern of results suggests that the male partner is more influential than the female in setting standards for the couple. (Author)

At the University of Iowa, a 5 percent random sample of the student population was surveyed concerning their use of alcohol.
