To test a model of the effect of sex-role socialization on women's career motivation, data were collected in 1980 from 9th and 12th graders (n=1,863) with follow-ups in 1990 and 1991-93. Predictors of persistence in science careers, career salience, mastery motivation, and career aspiration were identified. (SK)
