Burke, Philip J.; Sage, Daniel D. – Simulation and Games, 1970
The use of simulation in a workshop for school administrators was found to foster more positive attitudes toward special education and increased acceptance of regular class placement of the handicapped. (RT)

Descriptors: Educational Facilities, Educational Planning, Facility Requirements, Games
Neal, Dorothy A. – Journal of Business Education, 1982
Using office simulation in a practice/procedures class better prepares students to deal with actual working situations. To facilitate the office simulation, one must consider available equipment, provide interesting programs, be aware of student needs, provide realistic evaluation, and be an enthusiastic and flexible teacher. (JOW)

Yovits, M. C.; And Others – Journal of the American Society for Information Science, 1981
This second of two related articles by the same authors describes a simulation model which permits examination of the interrelationship between information and decision making for a variety of situations. Prototype experiments which place human decision makers in an interactive decision-making mode are also described. Five references are cited.…

Zemke, Ron – Training, 1982
Gaming situations and their use in business training are examined. Various types of games are described and their benefits to trainees and teachers are discussed. (CT)

Laughlin, James E. – Psychometrika, 1979
This paper details a Bayesian alternative to the use of least squares and equal weighting coefficients in regression. An equal weight prior distribution for the linear regression parameters is described with regard to the conditional normal regression model, and resulting posterior distributions for these parameters are detailed. (Author/CTM)

Finkbeiner, Carl – Psychometrika, 1979
A maximum likelihood method of estimating the parameters of the multiple factor model when data are missing from the sample is presented. A Monte Carlo study compares the method with five heuristic methods of dealing with the problem. The present method shows some advantage in accuracy of estimation. (Author/CTM)

Dean, Vicki S. – Educational Leadership, 1981
Simulation is an appropriate technique for inservice education. Current research on simulation lends credibility to its usefulness as a training technique. A simulation game called "Choices" is described. (Author/MLF)

Ulman, Jerome D. – Teaching of Psychology, 1980
Describes a simulation game reinforcing students' understanding of the four elements of behavior modification: measurement, intervention, evaluation, and maintenance. (CK)
Descriptors: Behavior Modification, Higher Education, Psychology, Simulation
Spence, Keith R. – School Shop, 1980
Describes the collision avoidance simulator, which provides both a hands-on prolect for digital electronics students and a motivation device for driver education students. Gives details of the electrical construction and operation of the simulator. (JOW)
Descriptors: Classroom Techniques, Driver Education, Electronics, Mechanical Equipment
Rosen, Benson; And Others – Aging and Work: A Journal on Age, Work and Retirement, 1980
A management simulation is used to assess the effects of flexible retirement policies on personnel decisions for employees nearing retirement age. Flexible options significantly reduce termination rates for older workers who would otherwise be viewed as unemployable. (SK)
