This dissertation examined how higher education impacts economic outcomes, focusing on variables like age, sex, and socioeconomic status using meta-analysis. It acknowledged higher education's macro-level benefits in economic growth and addresses individual-level barriers to access. The study aimed to understand the nuanced relationships between these variables through systematic meta-analysis. Using meta-analysis allowed for a comprehensive synthesis of quantitative data from various studies, revealing the significant influence of factors like college completion, major selection, and institution choice on economic well-being. The findings emphasized the importance of educational decisions in shaping economic outcomes and suggest interventions to support timely college completion, guide major selection, and enhance support for disadvantaged students. While sex and socioeconomic status are important determinants of economic outcomes, educational decisions related to college timing, completion, institution selection, and major selection can substantially affect graduates' financial well-being. Understanding these dynamics is crucial for informing effective educational policies that address income disparities and promote economic equality. These educational factors directly influence the job market value, career progression, and lifetime earnings of individuals, often outweighing the disparities caused by sex and socioeconomic status.
