Five Ways to Organize for a New School Year
Balsley, Jessica
Arts & Activities, v150 n1 p16 Sep 2011
Educators may start off a school year with the best of intentions for staying organized, but by about November, they quickly find their systems, energy and motivation starts to dwindle. By March, they can't even see their desk, and have hundreds of e-mails in their inboxes. Incorporating a few organizational strategies at the beginning of the year will help educators get a jump on feeling in control of their classroom. This article presents simple strategies that educators can implement to get a head start on their organization for the new school year. The five strategies are (1) Pre-print letters; (2) Clear out e-mail inbox; (3) label shelves and drawers; (4) keep one cupboard or shelf empty; and (5) streamline rules and procedures.
