Results obtained from 16 intermediate grade students indicate that students' weekly test scores significantly increased during the experimental spelling program. The use of classwide peer tutoring with six at-risk fourth graders resulted in moderate to substantial improvements in spelling performance for five students. In a second experiment, the addition of "Language Master" to the tutoring process resulted in only slightly greater improved performance for two of four students. (Author/DB)

Two versions of classwide peer tutoring in spelling were evaluated with fourth-grade at-risk students (n=6 and n=4). Both experiments demonstrated moderate to substantial improvement in the peer tutoring condition and only slightly better performance in paired peer tutoring using the Language Master. (DB)
