Dunlap, William P.; Cornwell, John M. – Multivariate Behavioral Research, 1994
The fundamental problems that ipsative measures impose for factor analysis are shown analytically. Normative and ipsative correlation matrices are used to show that the factor pattern induced by ipsativity will overwhelm any factor structure seen with normative factor analysis, making factor analysis not interpretable. Comrey, Andrew L.; And Others – Multivariate Behavioral Research, 1988
Three methods were used to test the factor structure of the Eysenck Personality Inventory administered to 583 Australians. The preferred method was to extract factors by the minimum residual method, use the Tandem Criteria Method, and then rotate that number of factors by the Tandem Criteria I method. (SLD)

Golding, Stephen L.; Knudson, Roger M. – Multivariate Behavioral Research, 1975
Subjects participated in a multivariable-multimethod investigation and completed a variety of self-report assessment devices, direct self ratings, and peer ratings. Substantial convergence for three dimensions of interpersonal behavior, Agressive Dominance, Affiliation-Sociability, and Autonomy, was obtained across all modes of measurement.…

Byrne, Barbara M. – Multivariate Behavioral Research, 1994
Findings are reported for a cross-validated study of factorial validity and invariance of the Maslach Burnout Inventory across gender for elementary school teachers (742 males and 801 females) and secondary school teachers (659 males and 721 females). The study illustrates structural modeling methodology and use of multiple model-fitting criteria.…
