Squires, David; Trevisan, Michael S.; Canney, George F. – Studies in Educational Evaluation, 2006
The Idaho Comprehensive Literacy Assessment (ICLA) is a faculty-developed, state-wide, high-stakes assessment of pre-service teachers' knowledge and application of research based literacy practices. The literacy faculty control all aspects of the test, including construction, refinement, administration, scoring and reporting. The test development…

Sassenrath, J. M. – Journal of Educational Psychology, 1975
Data were reanalyzed from previous studies to attain ratio scores between right/wrong answers on test one or test two. Feedback was either immediate or delayed between test one and test two. The interference-perseveration theory was found superior to the verbal rehearsal theory in explaining the delayed retention effect. (Author/BJG)

Veitch, William R.; Roscoe, John T. – Journal of Experimental Education, 1974
A Monte Carlo technique was employed in order to compare the relative power and robustness of the Bartlett, Cochran, Hartley, and Levene tests for homogeniety of variance. (Editor)

Seaman, Samuel; And Others – 1984
The probability of obtaining a significant statistic, using the parametric analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) and the rank transform ANCOVA, was estimated for three conditions defined in terms of conditional distributions for two groups. The distributions were both normal, both skewed in the same direction but to different degrees, or both skewed to…

Feldt, Leonard S.; And Others – 1986
Rigorous comparison of the reliability coefficients of several tests or measurement procedures requires a sampling theory for the coefficients. This paper summarizes the important aspects of the sampling theory for Cronbach's (1951) coefficient alpha--a widely used internal consistency coefficient. This theory enables researchers to test a…

Harris, Chester W. – 1972
The efficiency of mastery tests of fixed length which sorts students into two categories is analyzed. For the sort of the students, an index, suggested by Fisher's linear discriminant function for two groups, is provided. (DB)

Young, Forrest W.; Null, Cynthia H. – Psychometrika, 1978
Multidimensional scaling has recently been enhanced so that data defined at only the nominal level of measurement can be analyzed. The efficacy of ALSCAL, an individual differences multidimensional scaling program which can analyze nominal, ordinal, interval and ratio data is presented. (Author/JKS)

Duncan, George T. – Psychometrika, 1978
Statistical procedures based on Bayesian estimation for obtaining estimates of a propensity (which would include estimates of proportions or relative frequencies) are described for the special case where the observer can only note whether the propensity exceeds or does not exceed a constant between 0 and 1. (JKS)

Carter, E. M.; And Others – Journal of Multivariate Analysis, 1976
The distribution of the likelihood ratio test for testing the reality of the covariance matrix of a complete multivariate normal distribution is investigated. (Author/RC)

Cziko, Gary A. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1984
Some problems associated with the criteria of reproducibility and scalability as they are used in Guttman scalogram analysis to evaluate cumulative, nonparametric scales of dichotomous items are discussed. A computer program is presented which analyzes response patterns elicited by dichotomous scales designed to be cumulative. (Author/DWH)

Gordon, Leonard V. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1973
A simple shortcut procedure for analysis of variance is presented using the means, standard deviations, and number of cases in each sample directly. (Author/NE)
