This study investigated the concurrent and construct validity of an alternative group assessment procedure. The study assessed performance and personal traits of teacher education students and compared group assessment ratings to faculty evaluations. To improve the testing of students' skills in performing laboratory experiments, 92 Israeli high school physics teachers participated in the development of a list of weighted laboratory skills.
