Upon completion of a study skills course 73 students responded to a 33 item questionnaire derived from the Study Skills Test in terms of the frequency of study problems experienced in specific courses where the style of the instructor most interfered with learning, or helped in learning the course content. A follow-up of participants completing a study skills course showed after one year no differences in attrition rates and significant increases in academic performance. Factors predictive of GPA varied over time. Results suggest that factors related to academic performance change as a function of demands of a university environment. (Author)

Undergraduate students (N=40) were classified as either judgers or perceivers based on the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and enrolled in six study skills classes characterized by more or less structure. Results indicated groups were equivalent prior to the course but afterwards judgers used study skills and attitudes more than perceivers. (Author)

Study skills deficits were reconceptualized on a knowledge and use dimension of either a general or specific nature.
