Uses results from the 1975 Ladd-Lipset Survey, a national survey of faculty opinion, to compare engineering faculty and all faculty surveyed. Engineering faculty members are more inclined to view themselves as professionals and scientists than as scholars and intellectuals, and 38 percent view themselves predominantly as teachers. (MLH)
