In an experimental study of job satisfaction, 74 women, equally divided between urban and rural backgrounds, were hired to perform a repetitive clerical task for three hours. Tests showed no significant differences in task performance; however, rural subjects were found to be more satisfied with the task and pay than urban subjects. (DS)
