Nevada elementary school teachers were surveyed to determine obstacles to science teaching. Results obtained from 292 questionnaires revealed a fairly uniform perception of obstacles (such as lack of teaching time, equipment, supplies) across categories of grade, sex, and age. Results agree with those obtained in several national surveys. (JN)

High school students read and rated descriptions of teachers (Experiment 1) and teachers read and rated descriptions of students (Experiment 2) that varied across sex and sex-role behavior. The impact of teacher and student sex differences and student assessment of teacher sex role orientation on student attitudes toward learning was examined with 252 undergraduate students, each evaluating 1 teacher.
