Assessing the Impact of Faculty Development Programs on College Teachers: A Survey-Based Analysis
Adicheril Laxmi Gopi
Journal of Educational Technology, v21 n3 p19-22 2024
The quality of higher education in India depends heavily on the effectiveness of its educators. Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) are designed to enhance teaching-learning outcomes and promote the professional growth of college educators. This study evaluated the impact of FDPs through a survey involving 50 faculty members. The findings highlighted significant benefits, including improved teaching strategies, professional networking, and increased motivation, while also identifying challenges such as time constraints and limited institutional support. A structured questionnaire, developed using Likert's scaling theory, measured changes in pedagogical skills, attitudes, and professional growth. The study emphasizes the need for tailored FDPs to address the specific needs of educators.
