To deal with both academic and affective needs of reading disabled children, a program designed to train professionals in remediation and counseling skills was developed. Over a two-year period, this program has succeeded in improving academic skills and self-concept of most of the 51 disabled readers. Continued training of dual-specialist remedial teacher-counselors is suggested. (Author/CL)
