Tahy, Zsuzsanna Szalayné – Acta Didactica Napocensia, 2016
It is a question in many countries whether ICT and application usage should be taught. There are some problems with IT literacy: users do not understand the concepts of a software, they cannot solve problems, and moreover, using applications gives them more problems. Consequently, using ICT seems to slow work down. Experts suggest learning…

Berežný, Štefan – Acta Didactica Napocensia, 2017
We have adapted our two laboratories at our department based on our research results, which were presented at the conference CADGME 2014 in Halle and published in the journal. In this article we describe the hardware and software structure of the Laboratory 1: LabIT4KT-1: Laboratory of Computer Modelling and the Laboratory 2: LabIT4KT-2:…

Udvaros, József; Gubán, Miklós – Acta Didactica Napocensia, 2016
The world all around us is rapidly developing. We are witnessing the rapid evolution of technology and communication. This means new challenges and responsibilities to future strategies and attitudes. Today's operating systems and development environments apply the principle of OOP; therefore today's developments are inconceivable without the…

Végh, Ladislav – Acta Didactica Napocensia, 2016
The first data structure that first-year undergraduate students learn during the programming and algorithms courses is the one-dimensional array. For novice programmers, it might be hard to understand different algorithms on arrays (e.g. searching, mirroring, sorting algorithms), because the algorithms dynamically change the values of elements. In…

Berežný, Štefan – Acta Didactica Napocensia, 2015
We can consider two basic views, when using mathematical software in the teaching of mathematical subjects. First: How to learn to use specific software for the specific tasks, e. g., software Statistica for the subjects of Applied statistics, probability and mathematical statistics, or financial mathematics. Second: How to learn to use the…

Törley, Gábor – Acta Didactica Napocensia, 2014
This paper presents the history of algorithm visualization (AV), highlighting teaching-methodology aspects. A combined, two-group pedagogical experiment will be presented as well, which measured the efficiency and the impact on the abstract thinking of AV. According to the results, students, who learned with AV, performed better in the experiment.

Bernát, Péter – Acta Didactica Napocensia, 2014
The topic of sorting algorithms is a pleasant subject of informatics education. Not only is it so because the notion of sorting is well known from our everyday life, but also because as an algorithm task, whether we expect naive or practical solutions, it is easy to define and demonstrate. In my paper I will present some of the possible methods…

Richter-Gebert, Jürgen; Kortenkamp, Ulrich – Acta Didactica Napocensia, 2010
In this article we demonstrate how the combination of a system for dynamic geometry with a freely programmable scripting environment can be advantageously used in teaching and research. We explain the reasons behind various design decisions that were made by us when designing the language "CindyScript" and give examples that proof how…

Bornemisza, Imre; Boytchev, Pavel – Acta Didactica Napocensia, 2009
When teaching Geographical Information Systems (GIS) it is important to explain the theoretical elements, but it is also necessary to illustrate the basic functions with examples. To help students it is advisable to separate the teaching of fundamentals from the practical application of complex GIS software. A simple programming language like Logo…

Radakovic, Davorka; Herceg, Dorde – Acta Didactica Napocensia, 2013
Dynamic geometry software (DGS) is often used for development of interactive teaching materials in many subjects, not only mathematics. These interactive materials can contain hundreds of elements in order to represent complex objects, and script programs to control their behavior. We propose an approach for creating, importing and using…

Záhorec, Ján; Hašková, Alena; Munk, Michal – Acta Didactica Napocensia, 2009
The paper presents a part of authors' research results, they obtained within a wider research focused on possibilities to influence students' attitudes and approaches to individual subjects, mainly the less favourite ones. Following the empirically derived hierarchy of subjects identifying the degree of individual subjects popularity among…
