Teachers' instructional methods and evaluation procedures were examined using frequency ratings from 37 high school teachers and 120 students. Students tended to rate teacher methods as more limited and more dependent on teacher direction than did teachers, who saw their methods as broader and requiring more student participation. (SLD)

A holistic approach was used to evaluate student writing skills in a high school that is part of a residential treatment program.
