This study identified perceptions of and responses to sex equity problems by three teachers at a middle school. All three teachers were aware of equity problems but differed in their sense of power to change student behavior and address problems. Results from a 2 x 2 factorial design with a single control group revealed that microcounseling subjects gained significantly more in criterion performance than the control group.
