An experimental and control group pretest-posttest design was used to determine effects on subjects' focus during playback of a self-evaluation model for use by student teachers in conjunction with split-screen videotape feedback. Forty-two student teachers were asked to evaluate the effectiveness of teachers based upon statements of authoritarian or nonauthoritarian teaching philosophy, both before and after their student teaching experience.
