Repeating validation procedures used for the Children's Group Embedded Figures Test Level II (ages 9-11), this Level I test of cognitive style was administered to a second grade sample. It proved reliable and significantly related to the individual Children's Embedded Figures Test and the Portable Rod-and-Frame Test. (Author/SJL)

The article describes development, testing, and use of a new instrument, Clark's Drawing Abilities Test, and its success in screening and/or identifying artistically gifted students. Significant correlations have been found between results from this test, the Children's Embedded Figures Test, and teachers' ratings of pupils. (Author/PB)

A field study was conducted in a suburban elementary school to ascertain the relationship between the CEFT, a measure of field independence, and tests of verbal ability and general intelligence for lower-class black subjects. Results are contrary to previous findings. (Author)

The Colombian version of the test met acceptable requirements of reliability and construct validity for use in cross-cultural research. Use of the back-translation method ensured equivalency of the Colombian and the English versions, and items in the Colombian version carried the same meaning as those in the original English version.
