The purpose of this study was to provide evidence of the validity of two measures of social intelligence and a self-esteem scale relative to math and reading achievement. The development and construct validation of the Dimensions of Self-Concept (DOSC), Form H, are described. The 20-item subscales of the preliminary research form furnished parallel estimates of reliability ranging from .83 to .91.
