Elosua, Paula; Iliescu, Dragos – International Journal of Testing, 2012
Psychometric practice does not always converge with the advances of psychometric theory. In order to investigate this gap, the authors focus on the 10 most used psychological tests in Europe, as identified by recent surveys. The article analyzes test manuals published in 6 different European countries for these 10 most used tests. A total of 32…

Waller, Niels G.; And Others – Multivariate Behavioral Research, 1991
The structural and external validity of the Tridimensional Personality Questionnaire (TPQ) and the relations among TPQ lower-order and higher-order scales and those of the Multidimensional Personality Questionnaire were examined. Results for 1,236 adults support the TPQ's validity but indicate its failure to operationalize portions of the…

Edinger, Jack D.; Vosk, Barbara N. – 1983
Of the many short forms of the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) that have been developed, the MMPI-168 is among the most promising. To determine whether clinical judgments based on the MMPI-168 are comparable to judgments based on the standard MMPI, 30 clinical psychologists participated in a randomized block, repeated treatment…

Omizo, Michael M.; And Others – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1987
The relationship was examined between six scales of the Locus of Control for Three Achievement Domains (LOCITAD), the Nowicki-Strickland Locus of Control Scale, and the Rotter Internal-External Scale. Subjects were 140 adolescent boys and girls. Significant correlations provided some support for LOCITAD's validity. (Author/GDC)

Berry, David T. R.; And Others – Psychological Assessment, 1992
Validity of 3 scales of the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI), the F, back F, and variable response inconsistency, for detecting self-reported partially random responding was supported by 3 studies involving 195 college students and 68 community participants but not by a study with 32 police job applicants. Lee, David J.; And Others – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1987
This study evaluated the validity of the Type A behavior pattern as measured by paper-and-pencil questionnaires. Categorization Agreement of the Personality Attributes Questionnaire and the Bem Sex Role Inventory.

Gaa, John P.; Liberman, Dov – Journal of Clinical Psychology, 1981
Investigated the extent to which the Personality Attributes Questionnaire and the Bem Sex Role Inventory assigned the same individuals to identical sex-role categories. Less than 55 percent of the subjects were assigned to identical categories. Suggests care must be taken when comparing results of studies that employ different instruments. (Author)

Borich, Gary D.; Paver, Sydney W. – 1974
Eighty undergraduates were administered four self-report locus of control inventories, in order to evaluate the convergent and discriminant validity of four categories common to these inventories: chance, fate, personal control, and powerful others. The four inventories were: (1) Internal, Powerful Others and Chance scales; (2) James Internal…

Gaa, John P.; Liberman, Dov – 1978
The degree of agreement between the Bem Sex Role Inventory (BSRI) and the Personality Attributes Questionnaire (PAQ) in assigning sex role categories was investigated by administering both instruments to undergraduate education majors.
