For a sample of 270 students who sought on their own initiative counseling on academic, career, vocational, and personal matters at a university counseling and testing center, intercorrelations of their responses to 20 statements on the Evaluation of Counselors Scale were factor-analyzed. Research on the Wechsler Memory Scale (WMS) is reviewed, including the relationship of Memory Quotient to Full Scale IQ. Despite its limitations, WMS has been a sensitive test of short-term memory, which may be helpful in identifying dominant (left) temporal lobe impairment. (Author/SJL)

Empirically weighted scores for Rest's Defining Issues Test were found to be more reliable than the simple sum of scores theoretically weighted sum, or Rest's p scores. The predictive ability of a mathematics test organized into a branching test for computer-interactive administration was investigated. Twenty-five blocks of five items were used in the branching. Each testee took 25 items, with each subsequent block being determined by prior performance. Results supported the branching technique. (JKS)
