For a sample of seven and eight-year old Nigerian elementary pupils, validity coefficients of a modified matrix completion instrument entitled Modified Hall's Matrices, were determined relative to two achievement tests. The coefficients were quite high. (Author/JKS)

The early development of the Academic Motivations Inventory, a self-report measure of the academic motivations of college students, is described.
