Cudeck, Robert – Multivariate Behavioral Research, 1982
Many models have been proposed for examining factors from several batteries of tests. A model for such an analysis is presented which allows for maintaining the distinction among batteries. A discussion of the computational procedures is given, and examples are provided. (Author/JKS)

Yen, Wendy M. – 1984
Two of the most popular methods for obtaining equal-interval scales for educational measurement are discussed: Thurstone's method and Item Response Theory (IRT). Between-grade growth on these scales is compared; while unstandardized differences show different trends for the two scales, standardized differences that take standard deviations into…

Reckase, Mark D. – Journal of Educational Statistics, 1979
Since all commonly used latent trait models assume a unidimensional test, the applicability of the procedure to obviously multidimensional tests is questionable. This paper presents the results of the application of latent trait, traditional, and factor analyses to a series of actual and hypothetical tests that vary in factoral complexity.…

Steinheiser, Frederick, Jr. – 1975
Summarizing work which is part of an Army research program on Methodological Issues in the Construction of Criterion Referenced Tests, the focus of this paper is on a Bayesian model, which gives the probability of correctly classifying an examiner as a master or as a nonmaster while taking into consideration the test length and the mastery cut-off…

Linn, Robert L.; Slinde, Jeffrey A. – Applied Psychological Measurement, 1979
This study investigated the adequacy of the Rasch model in equating existing standardized tests with groups of examinees not widely separated in ability. With the exception of one test pair and one grade level, the Rasch model using the anchor test procedure provided a reasonably satisfactory means of equating. (Author/CTM)

Hambleton, Ronald K.; And Others – Review of Educational Research, 1978
Reviewing psychometric and statistical developments in criterion- referenced testing, this paper presents six sections: uses of criterion- referenced test scores, reliability of criterion-referenced test scores, determination of test length, determination of cut-off scores, test development and validation, and summary and suggestions for further…

Educational Testing Service, Princeton, NJ. – 1964
This conference focuses upon various aspects of testing within a society, and upon technical advances in measurement. Philip H. DuBois's paper deals with China, a society dominated by tests, from 1115 BC--1905 AD. Donald W. Fiske discusses the effect of testing on the individual in modern America in his paper, "The Subject Looks at…
