Westbrook, Bert W.; Mastie, Marjorie M. – Educational Measurement: Issues and Practice, 1983
Each potential user must take the final responsibility for deciding whether a test can deliver what it promises in the situation in which it is to be used. A review procedure involves reading and evaluating research, studying technical manuals, taking the test, and communicating with others involved with the test. (Author/CM)

Vogel, Susan A. – Journal of Learning Disabilities, 1983
Morphological ability performance of 20 learning disabled (LD) and 20 normal seven- to eight-year-old boys on the Berry-Talbott Language Test of Comprehension of Grammar yielded the major findings that the LD boys did not differ significantly from normals on item categories ranked by difficulty level. (Author/MC)

Garvin, Alfred D. – Journal of Educational Measurement, 1976
A simple, usefully accurate approximation of the standard error of measurement is proposed for use by classroom teachers. An empirical comparison with Lord's approximation indicated that, though not as easy to calculate as Lord's, this approximation is more practical because it is useful at any point in the score distribution. Cudeck, Robert – Multivariate Behavioral Research, 1982
Many models have been proposed for examining factors from several batteries of tests. A model for such an analysis is presented which allows for maintaining the distinction among batteries. A discussion of the computational procedures is given, and examples are provided. (Author/JKS)

Miller, William G. – Man/Society/Technology, 1983
Illustrates how microcomputers can assist the instructor in scoring and analyzing classroom tests. Describes a BASIC language program adapted to several commonly available microcomputers that can be used in scoring and analyzing test results. (JOW)

Burton, Robert S. – New Directions for Testing and Measurement, 1980
Although Model A, the only norm-referenced evaluation procedure in the Title I Evaluation and Reporting System, requires no data other than the test scores themselves, it introduces two sources of bias and involved three test administrations. Roberts' two-test procedure offers the advantages of less bias and less testing. (RL)
