Briefly describes what is meant by the English examination system, how it has come to take the forms that it does, and why such importance is attached to it. Validity data are provided for the Adaptive Behavior Inventory for Children (ABIC) and the Estimated Learning Potential (ELP) which are components of the System of Multicultural Pluralistic Assessment (SOMPA).
