For students in the digital era, the development of digital soft skills is necessary for them to face the new situations of digital transformation and evolution. Thus, it is important to develop and hybridize students' skills through educational technologies and active pedagogical methods, so they can improve their academic performance. The aim of this study is to encourage students to develop the digital skills necessary to succeed in their studies and adapt to digital transformations by using a digital textbook in a flipped classroom pedagogy. The study sample was composed of 151 secondary school students. Through a summative evaluation and an evaluation grid with contextualized situations of the digital literacy module, we measured the progress of digital soft skills in the students and their learning outcomes. The results show that using the digital textbook in the flipped classroom pedagogy enabled students to develop their digital soft skills and promoted better learning outcomes. The results of a questionnaire showed that the students were very satisfied and appreciated the experience of using the digital textbook and learning through the flipped classroom pedagogy.
