Siming Zhang
ProQuest LLC, Ph.D. Dissertation, Concordia University Chicago
The purpose of this study was to investigate the satisfaction of international graduate students at private, religion-based universities. The study was conducted with international graduate students at three private, religious-based universities in the Midwest. An explanatory sequential mixed-method design was utilized and data were collected via a survey and interviews. The data described the academic and social needs of international graduate students, including during study times. Additionally, the study explored the specific assistance that private, faith-based universities provide to international students and explore the potential of such courses to improve students' sense of belonging and social support on private, faith-based campuses. Universities can use the results of this study as a basis to improve the setting of transition courses for international students.
