Describes the College of the Mainland's "Learn and Earn" program, an educational retraining program through which jobless students learn new skills while they work on campus in jobs related to their current skills. Cornell University developed a microcomputer program while Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University used the university's mainframe system.
