Fulfilling the Promise through CTE
Reese, Susan
Techniques: Connecting Education and Careers (J3), v87 n4 p16-21 Apr 2012
Americans live in a great nation, one in which every child is entitled to an education that will help that child reach success. But the debate has raged for years about whether the nation's education system is fulfilling the promise of not just an education, but an education of the highest caliber. Whenever the issue of school reform is addressed, it is important that career and technical education (CTE) is part of the discussion, because it is definitely part of the solution, as promising and exemplary programs around the country are demonstrating. These promising programs being used at various institutions to improve student outcomes include increasing literacy skills, fostering media literacy, and helping underprepared students prosper.
