Regional and supraregional treatment centers have been developed in Switzerland to cope with the problem of systematic toxic waste disposal. The process employed at the Fairtec Turgi plant is described beginning with delivery and storage and proceeding through treatment, reprecipitation, decontaminating cyanide, filtering sludge and ion-exchanger regeneration.
