Shea, Brent Mack – 1973
In order to account for the demise of American student activism, some explanation for its occurence in the first place seems useful. Such explanations involve reference to family socialization, university conditions, societal-based issues, and to the possibility of social change. Bluhm, Harry P. – 1966
An attempt has been made in this paper to show that the pushout is a complex person, that he has a kaleidoscopic personality, presenting no one image to his peers, his parents, his teachers or his prospective employer. He means many things to many people. If we are dedicated to helping all students succeed optimally, it behooves us to understand…

Millard, Thomas L. – Clearing House, 1979
New voluntary agencies have grown out of the social changes of the 1960s. These grass-roots organizations, such as coffee houses, legal aid societies, and community counseling centers, differ in program style and attitude from traditional social agencies and may be more effective with alienated and cynical young people. Vavrus, Michael – Urban Review, 1987
Research on teacher burnout, stress, and alienation lacks emphasis on the social milieu in which teachers work.
