Iwai, Stanley I.; Churchill, William D. – Research in Higher Education, 1982
Five groups of undergraduate students (academic dismissals, low grade point average [GPA] stopouts, high GPA stopouts, low GPA persisters, and high GPA persisters) were compared in terms of their responses to a checklist of financial sources of support. Clear sex differences were observed in the reliance on financial sources. (Author/MLW)

Mannarino, Anthony P.; And Others – Journal of School Psychology, 1982
Describes and evaluates a social competence program for high risk children. Undergraduates used interpersonal problem-solving techniques to work with 32 maladapting first through third graders who were seen on a small group basis. Results indicated that children in the program made significantly greater gains in classroom adjustment. (Author)

The performance and the predictors of performance of urban and nonurban students in a University of Missouri-Kansas City B.A.-M.D. program are compared. Female dental students in 68 American and Canadian dental schools were surveyed regarding women in dental school. It was found that almost 80 percent do not believe their sex hinders them, that qualifications should be the primary consideration in admission and hiring, and that special seminars would be a beneficial support service.
