Peer reviewedCox, Brian J.; And Others – Psychological Assessment, 1993
To study the distinction between self-reports of anxiety and depression, a factor analysis was conducted using responses of 298 anxiety disorder patients on the Beck Depression Inventory and the State Anxiety subscale of the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory. Results suggest that the two conditions can be reliably differentiated in self-reports. (SLD)

Peer reviewedHarter, Susan; Whitesell, Nancy R.; Junkin, Loretta J. – American Educational Research Journal, 1998
Documented similarities and differences in the domain-specific and global self-evaluations of 235 normally achieving, 118 learning disabled, and 70 behaviorally disordered adolescents. Factor analysis revealed eight discrete self-concept domains for each group. Discusses similarities and differences and within-group processes. Contains 46…

Peer reviewedAnderson, Drew A.; Williamson, Donald A.; Duchmann, Erich G.; Gleaves, David H.; Barbin, Jane M. – Assessment, 1999
Developed a brief self-report inventory to evaluate treatment outcome for anorexia and bulimia nervosa, the Multifactorial Assessment of Eating Disorders, and evaluated the instrument in a series of studies involving 1,054 women. Results support a stable factor structure and satisfactory reliability and validity, and establish normative data. (SLD)

Peer reviewedChen, Yau-Jane; Willits, Fern K. – American Journal of Distance Education, 1999
Discussion of educational transactions in distance-learning environments focuses on a study that identified the dimensions constituting dialog, structure, and learner autonomy by investigating Pennsylvania State University students' experiences with videoconferencing. Peer reviewedYang, Shih-Ying; Sternberg, Robert J. – Intelligence, 1997
The conceptions of intelligence of Taiwanese Chinese were investigated in two studies involving 68 and 434 participants (college students and community adults). Peer reviewedCharman, Tony; Pervova, Irina – Journal of Outcome Measurement, 2001
Studied the internal structure of a self-report measure of depressed mood in school children, the Child Depression Inventory (M. Kovacs and A. Beck, 1977) with 92 Russian and 139 English children (mean age: 12 years, 10 months). Internal reliability and consistency results and factor analysis support the use of the scale with non-Western samples…
