Briefly reviews research that has found Blacks to be distrustful of Whites and describes the development of a psychometric instrument that measures four domains of cultural mistrust: education, interpersonal relations, business and work, and politics and law. Children (N=64) in a fourth-grade class were given 20 tokens for drawing a picture and then had the option of donating any or all of the tokens to either "needy children" or for "a class prize." Sharing with needy children was positively correlated with self-esteem. (Author)

Effects of the ethnicity of observers on Chicano mothers and sons were evaluated using four female observers, two Anglos and two Chicanas. Verbal interaction, child prosocial and undesirable behaviors, and use of Spanish were recorded in the homes of ten Chicano mother-son pairs. Effects of observer ethnicity were negligible. Examines the development of reciprocal cooperation in dyads by allowing one subject at a time to be dependent upon a partner and then reversing this condition periodically. Subjects were 10 special education unit students who ranged in age from 10 to 16 years. (MP)

The conjugate lateral eye movement phenomenon was investigated for 52 children aged 2 through 10 using both spatial and verbal-analytic questions.
