Seven hypotheses, chief of which is that differences in job satisfaction will be found among library units and among occupational groups within libraries, were tested individually using one-way analysis of variance on sample of employees in three university libraries in early 1970s. Several measures of the speed of information processing were related to ability factors derived from the Cattell-Horn theory of fluid and crystallized intelligence. The effectiveness of a computer-assisted training method using computer simulation of two subsets of the Wechsler Intelligence Test for Children--Revised was compared with traditional methods for teaching the administration of the test.
