Kennedy, William B.; And Others – Journal of Medical Education, 1981
Ten years ago the results of the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) minitest suggested that there would be little change in total basic science examination performance between the second and fourth year of medical school. Five projects are reported that sustain these results. (Author/JMD)

Dean, Raymond S. – Journal of School Psychology, 1980
Under realistic individual testing conditions there is consistency between the factor structure of the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised (WISC-R) with Anglo and bilingual Mexican American children. This investigation failed to indicate any unfairness to the Mexican American child on the WISC-R. (Author)

Whitely, Susan E. – Intelligence, 1980
This article examines the potential contribution of latent trait models to the study of intelligence. Nontechnical introductions to both unidimensional and multidimensional latent trait models are given. Multidimensional latent trait models can be used to test alternative multiple component theories of test item processing. (Author/CTM)

Neely, Margery A. – Vocational Guidance Quarterly, 1980
Boys and girls in Grade 9 are expected to master the same developmental tasks, yet the literature suggests that by this age, boys are experiencing precareer anxiety, while girls experience premature closure of opportunities. Such interpretations call for sex-based norms on the Career Maturity Inventory. (Author)

Smith, Corrine Roth – School Psychology Review, 1980
Standardized tests are merely a place to begin evaluation. As an alternative, criterion-referenced measures offer more specific information. The end point of assessment must involve diagnostic teaching and continuous evaluation of real-life task and setting modifications. (Author/CP)
