It was found that the sex differential in earnings within clusters of similar jobs was much greater if marriage and children variables were excluded: men received a large "payoff" from being married and having children. Academic stress was measured in Black and White, middle- and lower-class adolescents in an inner city school. Race differences were observed on four of ten factors with Blacks indicating significantly more pressure. A race by class interaction was revealed for the consequences of academic failure factor. Underwood, Benton J.; Lund, Arnold M. – Journal of Experimental Psychology: Human Learning and Memory, 1979
Subjects learned one, two, or three verbal lists simultaneously. Recall of the common list after 24 hours increased directly as the number of lists learned simultaneously increased. Assuming that simultaneous learning reduced interference, the interference was from extraexperimental sources of a proactive nature. (Author/CP)
